Wills and Probate Legal Secretary
We are preferably looking for an experienced candidate in Wills and Estates procedures with a willingness to learn and who can be adaptable and flexible in their approach to this position.
The role will involve working as part of a well-established team. Part of your role will be to meet and greet clients/visitors in a professional manner, answering and making calls, taking and relaying messages to your fee earners including co-ordinating and preparing incoming and outgoing post, maintaining and updating fee earner diaries, making appointments, opening and closing/archiving files, preparation of invoices, use of Case Management System (training provided), strong customer focus and carry out a wide range of general administration duties and must have excellent typing skills.
The ability to prioritise your workload and meet deadlines given is essential.
The candidate must be numerate and articulate with GCSE’s (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
The successful candidate will need to have a professional telephone manner with smart appearance, be a confident communicator and have excellent organisation and planning skills.
Confidence in using the internet, email, Word and Excel is necessary.

Legal Assistant
Job Overview:
Due to increased workloads, we are seeking a highly organised and detail-orientated individual to join our team as a Legal Assistant. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide administrative support to our legal team and assist with various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our legal department. This vacancy involves working between our Corby and Kettering offices so a driving licence/transport is essential.
Duties:
- Typing using digital dictation system
- Organise and maintain legal files and documents
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings
- Prepare and distribute correspondence, memos, and other legal documents
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal proceedings
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Perform general administrative tasks as needed
- Use of our Case Management System – ALB (Training given)
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role is preferred but we will consider applications from persons without any previous legal experience.
- Strong analytical skills to analyse legal documents and extract key information
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritise deadlines
- Proficient in using computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in legal documents
- Excellent typing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills to interact with clients and other stakeholders
